Flanders Masters Program Scholarship in Belgium
I would like to provide you with information about the new Program of Flanders, which is part of the Belgian Universities Framework. The goal of this program is to fund master's students who wish to obtain financial support during the implementation of their project.
Flanders – the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium – is a great destination for students from all over the world. Studying in Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Hasselt or Leuven means all students of all nationalities are welcome.
Conditions of the Flanders Programme
- You must be a national of one of the 29 eligible countries and reside in one of these countries (not required to be in the same country) at the time of submitting your application.
- Applicants must not be over 35 years of age on January 45 of the year in which they will begin the program. While applicants for Advanced Masters must not be more than XNUMX years of age on the same date.
- Priority will be given to candidates working in higher education, government or civil society.
- Candidates who aim to work in these sectors will be favorably considered.
- If you work in the private sector or are a recent graduate with no work experience, this could be taken into consideration if you present a strong profile.
- Applicants are allowed to submit only one ICP Connect scholarship application per year.
- You must not have a previous scholarship from the Belgian government to study,
- You must not be registered in a study program at Belgian higher education institutions before January 1st of the year in which you will start studies.
Scholarship selection criteria
- Candidates' motivations and goals and their competence in imparting acquired knowledge and skills or highlighting sustainable development topics are assessed. Their potential as “change agents” is considered after the study.
- Preference is given to candidates who can effectively implement and transfer the knowledge and skills acquired in the context of sustainable development, whether in higher education, government, civil society or the private sector.
- The program aims to achieve a balance between males and females in scholarships, especially encouraging female candidates to apply.
- The program targets a balanced representation of researchers from different countries and regions.
- Preference is given to candidates who have not held previous scholarships in high-income countries, either at the bachelor's or master's level.

Please note that the scholarship covers the full duration of the Master's program (12/24 months) and partial scholarships are not permitted. Scholarship costs may change depending on government funding decisions, and detailed figures for the 2022-2023 academic year are not currently available, so you are advised to monitor our website for updates.
The application procedures for a study grant include the following steps
- Check that you meet all the specified criteria to receive the scholarship.
- View selected Master's programs available (15 programmes).
- Search for additional information about the master's program through the websites of the universities organizing the program.
- If you are interested in a particular programme, go to the website of the university organizing it and follow the instructions to apply for the program and receive the scholarship.
- When applying for the program, be sure to specify that you wish to apply for a scholarship. You should not apply to more than one Master's program per year.
After these steps, there will be deadlines set by the program. Shortlisted candidates and standby candidates will be contacted via email after selection, no later than mid-June.
