This program is ideal for students who plan to pursue graduate studies or who seek to apply their studies through practical research.

The organization provides a supportive and respectful learning environment for students as they gain professional experiences and work with a diverse, international, multilingual team.

An effort is made to ensure interns are exposed to various aspects of the organization and that assigned projects provide meaningful hands-on opportunities to contribute to the work of the organization and its impact in the community.

Training activities may include literature reviews, field work, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, multimedia projects, internal and external report writing support, and administrative responsibilities.

Interns are expected to adhere to Al Qasimi Foundation employment policies and conduct themselves professionally at all times. As part of their experience, interns will produce at least one policy brief or creative work (depending on the nature of the internship) that will be published on the Al Qasimi Foundation website.

Furnished accommodation, local transportation, and a small allowance to cover living costs during the training period are provided. Airline tickets and other costs are the responsibility of the trainee.

Objectives

  1. Providing opportunities for outstanding students to gain professional experience and contribute effectively to projects that benefit the Ras Al Khaimah community.
  2. Building a community of researchers and enhancing cooperation between prestigious international universities and national institutions in the United Arab Emirates.
  3. Promote cultural exchange that ignites curiosity, new ideas, and facilitates understanding.

selection criteria

If students meet the minimum eligibility criteria listed above, they are encouraged to apply for an internship opportunity.

Trainees are selected based on merit as measured by (1) academic achievements; (2) the quality and professionalism of the application materials; and (3) the extent to which applicants’ interests align with current Al Qasimi Foundation projects.

Students' personal statements demonstrating previous experiences, coursework and training-related skills are taken into serious consideration.

The Al Qasimi Foundation is also interested in knowing what students hope to gain through training and how it will help them achieve their academic and professional goals.

Preference will be given to students planning graduate study or wishing to gain research experience in education, public policy, or closely related disciplines. Program Directors and the Foundation Director serve as the evaluation and selection committee.

Please note that the training program is very competitive. Although the Al Qasimi Foundation receives many excellent, high-quality applications, only a few are selected each year. All applications that meet the minimum eligibility criteria will be kept on file for 12 months.

If new training opportunities arise during that period, the Al Qasimi Foundation will contact applicants whose qualifications best match the available openings.
