The SBW Foundation supports educational projects around the world. Through our SBW Berlin Scholarship, the Foundation contributes to the international promotion and dissemination of education and knowledge.

This scholarship is awarded to young talents from abroad who have already been socially committed in their home country. Through the scholarship, students can be enabled to study for a bachelor's or master's degree in Germany (Berlin or Potsdam). In special cases, vocational training can also be financed.

Grant funding

The Foundation offers students accepted into the scholarship section all of the following benefits, which can be used from the date of acceptance and travel to Germany.

SBW Berlin Scholarship Conditions

• Between the ages of 18 and 30 years.
• Professional or volunteer experience in the non-profit or social sector.
• Letters of recommendation from the social enterprise or non-profit organization must be submitted.
• You must have a certificate that qualifies you to study at university in Germany.
• Intent to work for at least 18 months in the home country after graduation or participate in charitable activities in Germany.
• Net income proved relatively low
• The grade point average is equivalent to a German grade point average of at least 2.0.
• There are no immediate family members permanently residing in Germany.
• Apply before the start of studies or complete registration in the first, second, or third semester as a maximum at a university recognized by the state.
• Or applying for a master's degree shortly before or after obtaining a bachelor's degree

Interested applicants should note that an application is required for a place at a university or university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule) in Berlin or Potsdam.

The application and all accompanying certificates and supporting documents must be submitted in German or English. If the original documents are issued in another language, we also require a translation into German or English.
