Free Swedish university scholarships
For international students, fees, scholarships and residence permit are important parts of the application process. Some Swedish university scholarships are available to students who wish to study in Sweden. Funding is awarded on a competitive basis by the Swedish Institute and individual universities.

Conditions for Swedish universities granting bachelor’s degrees
- You must have a high school diploma or diploma
- You have successfully completed your secondary education
- Be able to demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
- Your latest academic results must be excellent
- You are supposed to register yourself as an international student
- Submit all required documents below
- Your transcripts must be officially signed and stamped by the university.
- For students who received their final school grades after December 31, 2009, there is an additional mathematics requirement. The student must have successfully completed mathematics courses equal to first, second, or third level
Conditions for Swedish universities granting master’s degrees
To be eligible for Master's courses and programs taught in English, you must meet general and specific admission requirements.
- You must have a bachelor's degree in addition to a high school diploma as well.
- Your latest academic results must be excellent
- You are supposed to register yourself as an international student
- International English language certificates such as TOEFL or IELTS are accepted
- Your transcripts must be officially signed and stamped by the university.
Conditions for granting doctoral degrees by Swedish universities
- You must have a bachelor's degree in addition to a master's degree.
- You must submit a complete research plan for your project
- You must have obtained a full study plan at the university
- Your latest academic results must be excellent
- International English language certificates such as TOEFL or IELTS are accepted
- Your transcripts must be officially signed and stamped by the university.
- It is very important to write to the supervisor at the Swedish university before registering a scholarship application

How to submit an application for Swedish university scholarships
- The first step: Go to the Create an account website – Universityadmissions.se
- Second Step: Search on the university’s website for registering a new application for an international student
- The third step: Register on the university’s official website, then register the application and send it directly. Do not forget to put the option that you want to register a scholarship application on the website.
- Fourth step: Waiting for the result. If you are accepted, you will automatically receive the scholarship.
