The University of Groningen in the Netherlands offers three scholarships to students from outside the European Union who are applying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in entrepreneurship and show that they are committed to contributing to the university’s educational vision and mission. The University of Groningen Scholarship is a one-year scholarship to support living expenses during the first year of their studies. Students will be selected based on academic performance, letter of motivation, financial need, and suitability of the scholarship programs for their future career.

Conditions for the University of Groningen Scholarship

  1. Applicants accepted into the Master of Philosophy program from countries outside the EU/EEA. 
  2. Selection criteria are determined by the Admissions Board for the Research Master's programme. 
  3. All students accepted from countries outside the EU/EEA are eligible for this scholarship.

Applying for a scholarship at the University of Groningen

  • Interested candidates will need to submit their scholarship application in parallel with the BSc Global Responsibility & Leadership or MSc Sustainable Entrepreneurship.
  • Different committees will review the program application and grant application. Candidates submit a successful application by completing the following steps:
  • Submit a completed application for admission to the Bachelor of Global Responsibility and Leadership or Master of Entrepreneurship

1. High school certificate

Students are required to have successfully obtained a high school diploma that allows them entry into an academic university. Therefore, students need to obtain a Dutch VWO diploma or international equivalent before enrolling in the programme. It is also possible to apply with the Dutch HBO (University of Applied Sciences).
