Radboud University PhD Scholarship Netherlands Applications are invited for the position of PhD candidate in High Energy Astroparticle Physics within the Pierre Auger Collaboration at Radboud University.

The Pierre Auger Observatory is the largest detector ever built to study ultra-high-energy cosmic rays. Located in Malargüe, Argentina, the 3000 km² detector array is currently undergoing upgrades, including the deployment of additional particle detectors as well as antennas that measure radio frequency emission from the air shower units.

This will enhance the observatory's capabilities to determine the nature of the highest-energy particles ever observed, and potentially detect high-energy neutrinos for the first time. Such discoveries could help solve the long-standing mystery about the origin of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays.
