The Hertie College Scholarship aims to exempt students and support them financially to come and study in Germany to study in Berlin for the next academic year.

About Hertie College

It is a German independent private graduate school located in Friedrichstrasse, Berlin. It has the right to grant master's and doctoral degrees.

Half of the students at the Hertie School come from abroad (with over 95 countries represented among graduates and currently enrolled students), and the working language is English. Mostly, Hertie School students have backgrounds in law, economics, political science and international relations and are pursuing a Master of Public Policy or Master of International Affairs degree.

Master of Public Policy

  • Tuition fees for the two-year program are currently €9125 per semester. Each applicant receives a discount of 2000 euros. or
  • Tuition fees for the two-year program are currently €9125 per semester. Each applicant receives a discount of 4500 euros.
  • Tuition fees for the two-year program are currently €9125 per semester. Each applicant receives a discount of 9125 euros.

Tuition fee deposit

  • A deposit of €1500 for tuition fees (non-refundable) is required in order to secure a place in the next semester.
  • This payment is part of the tuition fees for the first semester.
  • Admission is allocated on a rolling basis, therefore the tuition fee deposit payment deadline varies and is determined by each candidate's application date. 
  • Candidates will be given this deadline in their notification of admission and will also receive a study agreement form, which must be submitted with their tuition deposit. 
  • Candidates are usually notified of acceptance six weeks prior to submitting their tuition fee deposit and study agreement form.

Conditions for a master’s scholarship in Germany

  •  It is possible to apply in any study major previously specified by the scholarship at the university
  •  You must have a previous degree in accordance with the requirements of the scholarship program
  •  Send the application fully supported by the required documents and facts
  •  Delay in sending the application or lack of documents will cause your application to be rejected
  •  Complete the scholarship application completely within the specified dates

How to apply

  • First, you must register in college to obtain university admission, then in addition to that, write a brief motivation letter,
  • Or create a photo essay or make a short video explaining the following: Please identify a specific social or political problem you would like to solve and explain how a degree in public policy or international affairs, combined with your previous education and professional experience, will help you do so.
  • Additional motivation materials must be sent to the Admissions Department immediately after submitting the admission application.
  • Interested applicants must submit their applications and stimulus statements before February 1. Selected candidates will be contacted for an interview.
