We provide you with a fully funded master’s scholarship in Germany so that you can study in Germany and continue your education in an internationally recognized government institution.

The German DAAD Foundation offers all students of all nationalities the opportunity to finance their studies at a German university so that they can obtain a master’s degree.

Conditions for obtaining a master’s scholarship in Germany

  • You can apply if you have completed your first degree (e.g. Bachelor's or Diploma) no later than the start of the funding period.
  • Registration is available for all majors in German universities.
  • Please state the full period for which you wish to apply for funding in your application. 
  • For example, if you are planning a two-year degree program, you should directly indicate two years as the desired scholarship length in your application. After the first year of study, your academic achievements will be evaluated in an additional funding procedure. If this shows that you will successfully complete your program within a reasonable period of time, the scholarship will continue as planned.
  • Your application cannot be considered, if you have resided in Germany for longer than 15 months at the application deadline.

Criteria for obtaining a master’s scholarship in Germany

  • Achievements are academic, meaning your academic grades, training, volunteer, or work experiences.
  • High School certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree translated and certified.
  • To apply for a place at the university and thus to start funding, you must provide evidence of your language skills (e.g. DSH or TestDaF if the language of instruction is German; e.g. TOEFL or IELTS if the language of instruction is English). A C1 level is often required, but this varies from program to program. 
  • Ask your chosen university about the requirements in advance.

  • Completing a master’s degree at a German public university without paying fees
  • One year of study in Germany or two years depending on the length of admission you will obtain from the university.
  • Depending on the length of your chosen programme, the scholarship is for visits between 10 and 24 months.
  • Scholarships are awarded for the duration of the standard study period of the chosen program (maximum 24 months). 
  • Scholarship worth €861 per month.
  • Payments for health, accident and personal liability insurance coverage.
  • Travel allowance.
  • A one-time study allowance of €460
  • Monthly rental support.
  • A monthly allowance to accompany family members.
  • Supporting additional costs resulting from disability or chronic illness.
  • Pay the course fee for the online language course after receiving the scholarship letter.
  • If necessary: ​​German language course (2, 4 or 6 months) before the start of the study visit in Germany
  • An allowance for a personally chosen German language course during the scholarship period.
  • Payment of the TestDaF or DSH test fee, which you can take either in your country after receiving your assignment letter or in Germany during your funding period.
