About the University of Mauritius
The University of Mauritius was officially established by the University of Mauritius Decree in December 1965, housing the current Faculty of Agriculture. faculty of Agriculture
The College of Agriculture is the oldest college in the university. It was founded in 1914 as the College of Agriculture, and in 1966 it was incorporated into the newly established University of Mauritius. The Faculty of Agriculture runs the UoM Farm, an 8.5 hectare (21 acre) open laboratory.

College of Engineering
The School of Engineering was originally established as the School of Industrial Technology in 1968. It consists of six departments: Applied Sustainability and Enterprise Development. Conditions for the University of Mauritius Scholarship
- Applicants must have at least an upper second class honors degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Applied Computing/Software Engineering/Mathematics/Physics/Engineering or any related field, from a recognized institution.
University of Mauritius Scholarship Funding
- The scholarship covers annual tuition and registration fees up to a maximum of Rs 75000 and a monthly stipend of Rs 16500 for Masters and Rs 18300 for PhD.
- Duration: The beneficiary will be given a maximum period of 3 years to complete the Master’s/PhD study.
