The Danish government scholarship aims to support students who wish to study bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate studies for free in Danish universities, and all students can now apply for this funding.

Roskilde University
Roskilde University (RUC) is a public Danish university founded in 1972 and located on Trekroner in the eastern part of Roskilde. Roskilde University offers higher education at Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels. Levels within four main areas: humanities, humanities, social sciences and sciences.
Technical University of Denmark
The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is a leading technical university with a global reputation. A fifth of DTU's teaching staff is recruited internationally and a growing number of students are from abroad as well. DTU has contributed to Denmark achieving a leading position in technical design, wind energy, biotechnology, electronics and communications technology.
University of Copenhagen
With over 38000 students and over 9000 staff, the University of Copenhagen is one of the largest research and teaching institutions in the Nordic countries. The university offers more than 200 study programs in health sciences, humanities, law, life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, natural sciences, social sciences, and theology.
Aarhus University
Aarhus University offers more than 50 courses English language From a wide range of subject areas at Bachelor's and Master's level, all of our doctoral degrees are taught in English. About 12% of our students are international – from 120 different countries.
Conditions for the Danish government scholarship
- It is possible to apply in any study major previously specified by the scholarship at the university
- You must have a previous degree in accordance with the requirements of the scholarship program
- Send the application fully supported by the required documents and facts
- Delay in sending the application or lack of documents will cause your application to be rejected
- You must meet all conditions and admission criteria at the institution (university).
- Complete the scholarship application completely within the specified dates
- The requirement to obtain a recognized academic qualification.
- You have the right drive and motivation to apply
- Doctoral students must be employed or associated with institutions of higher education.
- Long-term scholarships ranging from 5 to 12 months are offered
- Applicants must have been accepted into a suitable study programme.
- Application forms must include a detailed description of their future study/research plan in Denmark.
The student is considered ineligible if
- You are already enrolled or planning to enroll in a full programme, joint or double degree program in Denmark. Full degree, joint degree and dual course students are not considered eligible students Scholarships.
- You are not currently enrolled in, or conducting research at, a higher education institution in your country.
- You intend to pursue study at bachelor's level during your stay in Denmark in fields other than Danish language and literature.
- You plan to conduct studies or research on a part-time basis, rather than a full-time basis.
English language requirements In Denmark government scholarship
Degree equivalencies are determined by the individual institution, so to be sure check their language requirements. Based on a rough average of the previous requirements, here's an estimate of the ranges you can expect:

Note: *Some programs require “English A”, which is one level higher than English B.
English-speaking Danish Government Scholarship applicants must provide evidence of English language proficiency equivalent to at least English B level in Denmark.
Educational institutions can offer a test designed specifically for these applicants, which can document the applicant's English level.
Danish government scholarship deadline
For most universities, the application period for the fall semester begins in November of the previous year and closes between January and March.
For the spring semester, applications typically open in June or July and close between August and October.

Translation of documents must be done by a certified translator and must always accompany the original documents as well.

Please note: The government scholarship consists of two parts and can be offered as full or partial tuition fee waivers and/or grants to cover your living costs. However, since the scholarships are administered by the higher education institutions themselves, you should inquire at the institution of your choice for more details.
Registration in the Danish government scholarship
- You first need to get admission to the university
- After obtaining acceptance, go to the official website of the scholarship below.
- Create a new account on the official website.
- Fill out the grant application information.
- Attach the documents previously required from you to the application file.
- Send the application to the donor.

Our advice is to start early, so that you have time to obtain all the required documents. Applications for higher education in Denmark are coordinated centrally, but assessed locally at higher education institutions.
Important Things to Remember in Denmark Scholarship
You can apply for the Danish Government Scholarship for up to 8 programs at the same time. Coordinated Admissions (KOT) will ensure that you will not receive more than one offer of a place to study (if applicable). The offer will be at the highest possible priority.
For each program you apply to, you must submit a signature page. A signature page will be created on www.optagelse.dk after completion of the digital application. You must print it, sign it and send it to the higher education institution offering the programme.
- If you apply for a Danish Government Scholarship in multiple programs at the same educational institution, you will need to submit multiple signature pages.
- You must sign the signature page by hand
- Must not Signature pages are uploaded but must be sent separately by mail or email.
- If you send the signature page via email, you will need to print, sign, scan, and attach the signature page to the email
- You must upload your certificates and other documents
- You should look up document upload deadlines and documentation requirements on organizations' websites.
