DAAD Scholarships for Foreign Graduates offers Master of Engineering scholarship in Germany. This scholarship is fully funded and the student receives a monthly stipend to cover fees and living expenses as well.

Who can apply?

Applicants who have a first university degree in the fields of engineering and have gained admission to a German university no later than the time the scholarship begins.

Duration of the engineering scholarship in Germany

  • Between 10 and 24 months depending on the duration of specialization.
  • Starting from 1 October of the year following the application, or earlier in the case of a previous German language course
  • Scholarships are awarded for the entire period of study for the specialization and a maximum of 24 months.


In the Master of Engineering Scholarship Program in Germany, you can study at a state or country-recognized German university of your choice. Other DAAD scholarship programs are open to applicants from the Department of Architectural History or for scholarly projects.

In addition, the following additional benefits may be granted under certain conditions:

  • Monthly rental subsidies.
  • Monthly additional fees for accompanying family members.
  • Online language course fees will be covered upon receipt of scholarship confirmation
  • Support for the German language course
  • TestDaF test fee payment.

Grant conditions

  • Your last certificate is less than 6 years old.
  • You cannot apply if you have been in Germany for more than 15 months on the date of application.

Application documents

  • A copy of the passport or ID.
  • The last certificate you obtained must be translated.
  • A statement of the student’s grades for the last academic degree obtained, translated into English.
  • Motivation letter.
  • At least two letters of recommendation.
  • Biography.
  • Training certificates if you have them.
  • Work experience certificates if you have previous experience.
  • Volunteer certificates if you participated previously With volunteer opportunities.
